Sorting
With our next-generation solutions for recycling, Envac leads the way in shaping a more sustainable future and the circular economy. Recycling lies at the heart of a circular economy, but old and traditional methods are both challenging and costly. In contrast, our sorting solutions can be used by cities of all sizes and reduces transport and collection costs by at least 50% compared to competing systems.
Multiple recyclables and collection methods – one sorting plant
Our next-generation sorting system can be used together with the Envac pneumatic waste collection system, but can also be added to modernise old, traditional methods of waste collection. In both cases, Envac’s market-leading sorting solution is cost-efficient and straight-forward while increasing recycling levels.
The system is based on colour coding with each recyclable having its specific coloured bag that the users sort their recyclables in. This makes it easy for users, even if they are recycling novices. The bags can all be disposed of in the same waste bin or waste inlet to be transported to the sorting plant where the bags are sorted based on their colour and put in their corresponding container. Streamlining transportation means that our sorting system reduces costs and transport emissions..
Separating waste at home
As with any waste management system, the separation of waste from recyclable materials is done at home by residents and system users.
Whilst engaging users in correctly separating and recycling their waste can be a challenge, our experience, accrued over years of refining our sorting technology, has resulted in the development of a successful strategy that combines an easy-to-use approach with clear information and a customised customer engagement campaign.
We now have systems operating across the world that have seen some cities reduce their general waste volumes by 65 per cent when swapping traditional waste collection with our sorting technology.

By using our colour coded system in tandem with the latest in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, we’re able to access and evaluate data at even the most granular level.
We can now collect and measure information in countless ways including:
– Volume per waste stream
– User efficiency and success rate
– Establishing patterns of waste disposal by popular times, volumes and waste stream
We then use this data to further optimise our system and deliver insights for our customers in a way that our competitors cannot.
We also use AI to configure the system’s capacity and collection intervals, as well as understand user behaviour in order to be able to develop incentivisation strategies to encourage further recycling.
Our innovative approach has allowed us to develop smart solutions that enable us to play a proactive role in helping our customers move towards a circular economy.
One system (not size) fits all
We make sure that our system fits all. From the smallest system that can handle 1 line, 2 fractions and 9 tons per hour to a system that tackles 3 lines, 9 fractions and 27 tons per hour.
The sorting system handle recyclables such as food waste, paper packaging, plastic packaging, metal, textile, newspapers, colourless glass, coloured glass and combustible waste. With such flexibility we are confident we can provide a system that fits every need.
